Terms of Service
Last updated: August 17, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Recap ("the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
Recap is a personal networking and contact management tool that helps you organize professional relationships, sync with Google Calendar, draft outreach email, and — if you connect a Gmail account — send that email from your own address. The Service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Recap.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you upload (contacts, notes, etc.). Don't upload data you don't have the right to share.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to spam, harass, defraud, or harm others.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' data, or our infrastructure.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service except as permitted by law.
- Use the Service to violate any applicable law or third-party rights.
4. Sending email from your account
If you connect a Gmail account, Recap can send an email from your address when you press Send on a draft, reply inside an existing conversation you choose, and — when you ask it to — read your conversations with a specific contact to summarize them into your notes. You remain the sender and the author of every message.
- You are responsible for what you send. Drafts are generated with AI assistance and may contain errors or inaccurate statements about you or the recipient. Review every message before sending it.
- Recap never sends without your action. We do not send email automatically, on a schedule, or in the background, and we do not add recipients you did not enter.
- Anti-spam. You must not use Recap to send unsolicited bulk email, and you must comply with applicable law (including the CAN-SPAM Act, and GDPR or similar rules where they apply to you). Sending mail through your account is subject to Gmail's own sending limits and to Google's policies.
- Attachments. You are responsible for the content of files you attach and for your right to share them.
5. Google data
Your use of Google Calendar and Gmail data through Recap is governed by our Privacy Policy and by Google's own Terms of Service. Recap's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can revoke Recap's access to your Google account at any time via the Google permissions page or by clicking Disconnect inside Recap. Calendar and Gmail access are granted and revoked independently.
6. Termination
You may stop using Recap at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose a risk to other users or the Service. On termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RECAP AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to the address on file. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
